Re: [bolger] MICRO ADVERTISEMENT
OK Peter , I'm jealous!!
Your boat sounds beautiful and I hope you find a buyer who will appreciate it..
You mention that the boat was featured in the UK series of "the worst witch"...
Do you know the Channel or Production company so that I can try and get a
copy??? Because I live in England I have never seen a Micro except for pictures
on the web!!

Hi Daniel,
The production company was/is called UNITED.I haven't clue what
channel it would be on in England. It was aired here(in CANADA) on YTV
this past winter. The whole crew came over here last summer to film
two episodes......what an adventure!
Anyway,if you cannot find anything,I may be able to copy the
tape and send it to you providing your VCR system is compatable with
whatever we use here in North America. In the series, she is not
sailed.Instead the story line has her set adrift and quickly headed
down stream toward a large waterfall.Fortunately, there is a little
apprentice witch on board who saves the day with her magic broom. It
takes all of a few minites worth on the film but actually took two
days to set up and shoot the whole sequence which involved the use of
a helicopter and some very tricky planning from the technical team
who had to rig an anchor and pulley system in the river bed a few
dozen meters from the edge of the falls. It also involved one very
stout cable attached to a temporary bracket underneath the boat and
one very explicitly generous insurance policy from the production
company!
Sincerely,
Peter Lenihan

P.S. I seem to recall seeing a www site about a chap on your side who
has been building a MICRO now for a fair number of years.....perhaps
a link still exists on Tim's SQUARE BOAT PAGE?
