Re: [bolger] Re: Copperpoxy antifouling
I used the original Copperpoxy (no longer available)
on both the Bolger boats I built - the Micro and the
AS-29. I never had any hard growth on either boat,
just a little green slime that rubbed right off with a
scotch-brite type pad.
Now that the original product is no longer sold
retail, I mixed up some copper flakes in epoxy and
used it to touch up some spots on the AS-29. I've had
it on in salt water since Christmas, and so far no
problems.

I have heard both good and bad about the stuff.
After reading up on it i bought copper powder and mixed it up in west
systems epoxy (to the point of sagging) and rolled on 5 thick coats of
the stuff.
I let my Navigator sit in a slip for about 45 days last summer in 70
degree plus water. A little bit of slime but nothing else. I waded out
in shin deep water and rescuffed the bottom just before hauling out
for the fall to expose "fresher" copper.
