Hello,

I have two questions regarding this thread:

You mentioned finding answered in 1999-2000. Where did you find that
info? I had the same questions as the original post, and am now left
without answers. Nothing that old comes up when I run a search.

There are always references to models I have never heard of, in this
thread "Minnesota" was mentioned. Where do I find information on these
models? I could find basic information, but can't find pictures or
detailed information.

Thank You!

Marc
Hi Jason
I built a Sneakeasy. The comment about a displacement hull is valid
for the Tennessee as she is not flat bottom to the transom. If you
notice in the photos her bow is out of the water. My Sneakeasy runs
more level because her flat bottom runs to the transom. I like that
better. If you build Tennessee maybe consider a Sneakeasy bottom
(original configuration). I have a 15 hp Mercury on mine and get 16
knots wide open. I think the Idaho is only marginally better than a
Sneakeasy because hull interior is not much more. IMO she is too
narrow for convenient accommodations.
Bolger's Minnesota is the next step with considerably more interior
room and I believe not a displacement hull. 32 Feet I think.
Good Luck

Jason, You might want to look back on "Honda High Thrust" also. As I
remember it is simply a change of prop pitch rather than gearing and if
I remember "high cost of second prop" Clyde

I went back and searched and all my questions were answered back in
1999-2000 wow! I should shut up and read. I really didn't know
tennessee was a displacement boat till i started gawking at the photo
of ester mae sitting on her trailer, then went back and read.

Looks like tennessee for me.

Esther Mae is really nice, question to the owner:

Are the squat boards really needed with less than 25hp? I was thinking
a high thrust honda 15 could do the job?

Thanks,
Jason
Here's one design. Just ran across it this morning.

Hi...does anyone know of a good diagram and or instruction for building your own electric inboard for a small boat? What I need to know is what I need for getting the shaft through the hull and turning a prop......thanks......Robb

Mark,

I ran out of time and had to move for work up into the mountains of
VA. Same time i moved i purchased a car incapable of towing the little
monster....so she sits under canvas in Beaufort. I work at Virgina
Tech now and have summers off so after a brief trip this month i'm
heading to the boat to chop her and re rig as a gaff cat come june
1st. Gawd, I bet that varnish and paint is looking rough.

Aren't you around the harkers island area or is that the race you
sponsor? The boat is on a trailer at John's Canvas inside the fence
near the fire station.

Jason
Jason,

Did you ever cut the cabin off of multum un parvo?

Been a while since i was here but i always have valued the input i
get on this forum. Just found out i HAVE to move to Missouri. But at
least i'll only be 1 mile from the Missouri river.

So the next project.....Idaho or Tennesee.

Anyone have any pros and cons of either.

I believe the TN is a foot wider and the idaho a foot longer with a
bit more headroom and set up for wheelchair assesibility (non issue)

I kinda like the way idaho's stern hides the OB but looks as i could
tear it up easier.....toss up for me.

Is a 15 HP 4 stroke, high thrust really enough power to hit 10 knots
in these skinny things.

What do you folks think.

Thanks,

Jason
