Re: 12-16 fast sailors
How about a boat that's less than 8' long and can do 8.2 knots? That
would be the OZ PDRacer.

A fast SHORT sailboat? I don't think there is such a
thing seeing how you are stuck with the hull speed for
a given WLL.
So if you want to catch her try useing a Jet engine
and some Jet A fuel. Just don't set your sails a fire
when you light it off! I also don't think the shallow
water and or beach would slow you down much.
I think the Birdwatcher would be a good choise.... And
a lot less money then the jet engine.

I use to play with the kids forom the sailing scool in the harbor they had everything from a Sunfish to Lasers. My Windsprint could hold its own against most of the sailors there. The better laser sailors I couldn't keep up with except down wind.

The drawings I saw a year ago looked 100% complete, except for the blessing.

Ah... a noble prize more worthy than the America's Cup!
I suggest a Birdwatcher II. You can then invite her aboard for a pot
of tea,a sandwich, and cookies. She may even enjoy the dryness and
comfort so much, that she might opt for more frequent sails on your
humble craft.
Get building!

There's a lady racer at the pond I fancy and to talk to her I have to catch her.
Thanks,
