Re: whale watcher

Hi Darrell,

wow, that one and only Whalewatcher is just going begging for someone
to take up the build offer! Judging by all the accoutrements and
inclusions listed it must have been very, very, close to being
finnished before untimely fate intervened. I think the build would have
had a good deal of way on, and been running down stream, so to speak.

For details: Bolger wrote about WW in his book _Boats With An Open
Mind_. The scans at the goodboat webpage are from that. No doubt he
would have to get the full plan set from Bolger to finnish - probably
already has it along with the unfinished boat. I think you'll find it
can handle a bit of a swell, but is not meant for extensive offshore
cruising - cautious coastwise cruising would be about the limit.

Plans from PB&F.

I see goodboat is offering Birdwatcher 1 & 2 builds for 12200 and
17000USD respectively. So he is the boatbuilder who wrote about BW1 in
Woodenboat in 2004, is he? Sure seems to be a real convert to Bologer
designs after that boat!

Perhaps someone who is a little more computer literate may be able to
play with them and put them in the appropriate place. No suspect
suggestions please.
I haven't been able to find much on WW on site and not able to discern
much on specs from these cartoons.
Does anyone have info on size, designed/intended purpose for WW.
Like is it only for protected waters or can it handle a bit of a
swell. Are there plans available or has it been superceded. Any other info
Thanks - Darrell
