Hi Richard, welcome to the list! I'm building a Bolger Micro, and I'm
also interested in catamarans (since a few weeks). As Chuck wrote,
the best cats that I know of for us "wacky" homebuilders are the ones
designed by James Wharram (with Hanneke Boon in the last years).
I've purchased study plans for their Tiki 26, which is very smart
even if, I think, a bit "delicate". Believe it or not, the hulls
(almost 8 meters LOA) are made with 6 mm plywood. Many Tikis have
crossed oceans though, and a 21 footer has actually circumnavigated
the globe...
The way Wharram designs has a lot in common, I think, with Phil
Bolger and friends...

hi all,

My name is Richard, i just subscribed. i have just built a home design canoe
(inspired by bolger techniques, complete but not yet launched). this is the
only mailing list i can find that has traffic on it about home boat building.
My main interest rests in small sleepable catamarans, and construction
techniques. i am sure there is some overlap between my interests and this
list, and i will try to stay on topic. I appreciate any info on other
mailing lists, and where to start on my cat.
