Re: cat ( materials and budget)

Chuck,
I am in Maine.... :-) i have read a little about the aspect ratio's effect on
stability for cats, and it seems to me that since to stay trailer, its got to
be under 8'5" wide, so it should be no more than 25 feet long or so. I have
looked at the jarcat type design, and a couple others, i am working along on
the C.A.D. program making specs and figuring displacement etc, although i may
break down and buy plans. i am interested to see what anyone thinks on how
to plan a budget. i at present have no $ to comit to the project, but i do
have abundant resources. i have large quantities of red oak on my parents
land which i plan to cut and dry, and use for future boats. every trip to
home depot, I sift through the cull pile and buy the marked down plywood that
is still useable, much of it only stained or otherwise cosmetically deficient.
