Re: [bolger] Re: Isometric rendering of the new Advanced Gloucester Fisherman project

No I don't Harry but I have looked at them a few
times. But there was a set of plans for sale at the
Fly-mart at the fly-in I went to today.

We had a great time looking at all the "stuff" and the
aircraft as well!

I left on the red eye 6:00 AM this morning and just
got home on the 8:25 PM ferry and it was over an hour
late. Yep it makes for a LONG day!

Yeah, we are dreamers, and I am extreme.

This New England Fishing boat idea though is another thing. Not just
a dream, but reality.

Their idea is brilliant. Low power = cheap diesel costs. With
permits issued for just short season fishing = lot's of spare
off-season time for father son team to build their own boat.
Extremely thick fish-hold insulation even means you could store up
'free' winter ice? Fishing might actually be profitable again.

You got any LMA plans?

I have a number of aircraft plans as well. I had to quit flying
about 8 years ago due to diabetes but now am looking at starting
back under the new light sport rules. In my parts room are a pair
of engines where I had been considering an ultralight (a cuyuna and
a 2si) but I was never comfortable with ultralights with my size (I
greatly resemble Santa Claus) so I never built one. Now with LSA I
am thinking about one again but its only been thinking about them so
far.

Funny Paul I have more aircraft plans then boat plans.
I have 6 sets of aircraft plans I think and 1 set of
boat plans.

But hey I boat plans were given to me so I'm not out
much.... When it comes to plans you may buy a number
of then till you find the one that pulls on the heart
strings that says BUILD ME!

Out of all the plans that are sold how many ever get
build?

Thumbing through my collection of Bolger books has the same effect…
I was looking longingly at the section on Break Down Schooner in
BWAOM thinking that the same trailer I have for Superbrick would
carry the sections of it… It is a horrible, horrible illness… I
have a trash can in the corner filled with rolled up plans...

The drawing in National Fisherman magazine only shows a side
perspective, and no plan view or section view. So, creating an
isometric rendering involves some educated guess work. I can tell
from the clues offered that this Bolger New England Fishing Boat is
similar to a big fat Topaz. Also a safe bet that the motor house, and
the main cabin are offset from centerline. This isometric, for scale,
has 3 foot spaced buttocks and stations, and 1 foot spaced waterlines.
I have omitted rendering of the propeller and rudder (similar to that
we know from the shallow water tug boat) both are shallow and recessed
to interfere minimally with net work, plus I omitted the drop board
(similar to Birdwatcher and 100 other Bolger boats). Under the main
center deck are two large insulated fish holds.
