Re: Idaho Cruiser
John Bartlett's "Turtle" uses an Idaho hull, or one very much
inspired by it. Features a raised fordeck with Vee berth, small
dinette, lots of shade. It's been cruising the Rideau Canal for
several summers now with a Yamaha 9.9 for a mill. Phil Bolger was
reportetly not pleased with his mods, but to John's credit, he's not
called it an Idaho, although many others have.
He was talking about cutting it down into a gentlema's runabout when
last we chatted, about a month ago. Hinted he might sell it also.
It was at the 2003 Kingston Messabout, some pics at
http:/www.brucesboats.com on the Messabout page. Click on the links
to articles on past messabouts.
Bruce Hector
Once again hosting my bi-annual Kingston Messsabout this September.
Details on the above site. It'll be on the weekend after Labour Day.
