As an old retired IT Specialist I have these words of wisdom for
anyone who receives this type spam.
First always check the source and subject on any email you receive.
If you do not recognise the sender assume that it is spam, DO NOT
OPEN the suspect email. Look hard at the subject line. If there is
strange spelling or strnge subject which is stange to you, assume it
is spam and DO NOT OPEN.
Second forward the suspected email to all your regular spam blocking
support sites. Forward it also tospam@.... This last site is
the one that tracks down the overseas phishing sites.
If you want to check the senders email address hand type, do not copy
and paste, the senders email address into a email and send it asking
for a response for an address verification. If it bounces, you are
dealing with a sender who is hideing behind a false address, block
the senders address and add it to your spam list. Yahoo does both if
you will just click the spam button. Gmail and Netster are also good.
Hotmail will add it to a block list which is next to useless as most
of the spam on hotmail is paid advertiseing. The rest of the free
email sites are just about useless IMHO.
I realize that the above is a constant pain, but it is better than
someone stealing your identify and sucking your bank account dry!!!!

Lots of spam and phishing for the last few days. ???
I got one wanting me to confirm a Paypal payment that was fraudulent. Forward these tospoof@...or the equivalent for other businesses ...spoof@...,spoof@..., etc.

hard to get that), but the id was wrong, wrong, wrong.
There's been some other strange stuff lately, spam, and such that I
don't usually get, but this was quite different.
I opened no links, wiped the emails, and ran a scan - nothing yet -
fingers crossed...
