John Welsford has two designs in his book "New Backyard New Zealand
Boatbuilder, how to build your own wooden boat". The one called "Design
Nineteen:lightweight launch" designed to take a Yanmar diesel outboard. It's
28ft3 X 9ft2, 3500lb displ(dry), speed up to 11kts, power 4str petrol
outboard 35-45hp, w str petrol outb 40-50hp or 4 stroke diesel outboard
27-40hp.
The other is "Design twenty: Queen Mab the littlest long-range launch".
28ft6X11ft10, Displ 12346lb, power: 30-40hp, 25hp continuous rating,
Economical cruise speed - 6.2 kts, Theoretical range @ 6.2 kts - 2100
nautical miles.
The publisher of his book is Reed Publishing(NZ)Ltd, Auckland.

The rest of the book has a lot of traditional boats like a rowing dory and
other designs with old style rigs like cat yawls, etc. His designs are all
traditional in style and rig.
