RE: [bolger] Fldg Schnr Cont sharp edges?

The trailing edge of my centreboard is 1/4 inch plywood. I rounded it then
glassed it with no problem. I used glass strips cut on the bias (45 degrees
off the direction of the weave) and about 2 inches wide to get enough area
to stick down to the sides. The bias cut strips will fit around a curved
edge, just pull them out gently.

I don't like glass tape even for straight jobs because the manufactured
edges will not allow the tape to lie flat. I now cut all my "tape" myself.
It is also cheaper, specially when you use scraps.

...I am wondering about
putting some fiberglass tape and epoxy on the edges for strength.
The
planing uncovered some voids which have to be filled in any event.
Anybody have experience with wrapping the tape around a sharp edge
like this? What have other folks done to finish off the fair edges
of
the Bolger dagger boards, bilge boards or rud
Leander:

The tape doesn't fold over a sharp edge well. Put on either
side; then fill the tiny groove with putty; fair.

You'll get there!
