Dovekie, good choice. Only 165 were ever built, but they are durable
and come up for sale every so often, a couple times a year it seems.
Phil Bolger likes the Dovekie, owning one personally 30 years ago.
Still, he has written that the Dovekie is not perfect, he criticizes:
1) That she weights more that ideal for rowing, 2) that the 10' oars
are too long and 3) she possible to capsize (though difficult). I
think it fair to say that for the declared purpose, he likes the
Dovekie, but he also likes the Birdwatcher even more.
