Re: Micro Owners list.
I figured the list would be longer, but anyway here are my
suggestions.
Lets get a web page started, post some basic info on the Micro, maybe
some builder photos, links to builder sites, Q&A, etc...
I could put something together to start with, as long as others help
with gathering data (site url's, photos, etc...)
What about the name for our group?
I will post anyother thoughts I might have later...
Mark in MN...

Giuseppe 'Pippo' Bianco <pippobianco@...>
Boat: Micro, PCB's design 422
Materials: 3/8" (10 mm) okoumé marine plywood, double thickness bottom,
mahogany framing, epoxy resin, 9 oz biax fiberglass (taping), 5 oz
cloth fiberglass (sheating)
Started building: December, 1999
(Possible) Boat name: BOXER (because of the shape, and because I had a
beautiful dog, a boxer, strong and crazy as a Micro)
Modifications to the original design: none up to now, but I'll probably
build the rudder differently from the plans

My Micro "Ramona" was launched in '94, I think, and sails mostly in the
Hudson. I'm building a new Navigator version now, mostly because the
3/8" fir ply in the topsides of Ramona has started to rot badly in the
middle layer and if it continues I'll have to change her name to Bondo.
Funny, the luan never rotted. But Payson's book says never to use 3/8,
and I should have paid attention. Having a good time building the new
one now anyway. (w 1/4" topsides pickled in epoxy and with two layers of
glass) -John Schoonbeck
