Re: stickers on plywood
I run an art department in a public school system and we are encouraged
to use the least toxic methods possible. We have found that mineral
oil, and baby oil work in most circumstances, but I am not sure how
that will affect your final finish. Let us know what you find out.

Thanks Kristine You realy have to know David to realy understand. A
word smith that likes a little liquid livation. Looks like a large
trool with rosie checks and blames the dog for the fart smell. LOL Had
to give him a bar of soap that said face on one side and butt on the
other to keep him from getting it mixed up.

A product called Goof Off is what most builders and painters use.
Some grocerystores and the big box building stores have it in
cleaning or paint departments. Great for a lot of things.

I haven't heard of Goof Off, but I live in Canada, so maybe it
doesn't make it here.

It has the good stuf diluted by the safer stuff and works so it works
for me. The noise camping was the helth food nut with the organics in
the tent between.

Peanut butter. Put a gob on, work it in. Almost guaranteed to work.
Might need to go over it once or twice more.
Just try it. Might want to use some acetone to clean off the peanut
oil residue.
Bryant - from Canada where you can get Goo Gone too.

Hey Jon,
Goof Off is primarily xylene & toluol, IIRC. I like to start with the
mildest solvent I think will work. In this case: alcohol; mineral
spirits; lacquer thinner; xylene; MEK; flamethrower.
BTW, I've almost recovered from trying to sleep in the tent next to
yours, and the raucous snoring at Caterpillar Island. We'll have to do
it again some time <G>

I usually try the alcohol first, and if that doesn't work, then
acetone usually does the trick.

Anybody know how to remove the stickey glue residue on the ply after
peeling the sticker off?
Ultimately I would like an esterpol finish.
