I'll drink to that: Tacking Dipping Lugsail the104th Rig - from Beer?

Over at the boatdesign group there's currently a thread on dipping
lugs. Naturally, the possibility of the fabled tacking "true" lateen,
and *tacking dipping lugger* arose.

Well, I think PCB will have at least another small boat rig to add to
his book!

David had previously worked out a rig on another skiff that tacked
the yard behind the mast without dipping, but now...

Googling "Beer Lugger" will find info and pics- though some of the
writers haven't "seen" what actually happens when tacking. Two
sheets - like a jib. Note in any pics how the windward sheet that is
currently not the working one is led around the bow or luff of the
sail. That and a few other details make it tack just fine. I say it
must be a good sail, or Beer smugglers would use another ;O)
