Re: Boating pictures of interest.

I have made a minor change to these pages so they work better with
Netscape.

PHV
Boating Friends,

I have finished putting all the pictures from the recent Vanderwaart
family cruise to Bermuda on my web site. These include touristy shots
of New York Harbor, of Bermuda, of the Nordic Empress, etc.

They also include a fair number of pictures of boats of various
descriptions including of the Bermuda Race boats, boats in the
Bermuda Maritime Museum, and boats in marinas. Everything is labeled
and categorized. There are no links to pictures of the family, just
objects of presumed general interest.

Bolgeristas and small boat enthusiasts will be most interested in the
Bermuda Fitted Dinghies and the Spirit of Bermuda (a 14' cruising
boat). And there is a dinghy that certainly deserves the
title 'square boat.'

The web page is on a free ISP, and the response sometimes leaves a
lot to be desired. If it doesn't work when you try, just try again
another time. All the pictures are 640x480, and average about 60Kb in
size. As most of you know, if you want to save a picture for
yourself, just right-click on the picture, and choose 'save as' from
the pop-up menu. (Mac users: you are on your own.)

You can enter the site at the front page:
http://members.xoom.com/vandep/index.html
or at the main picture menu page:
http://members.xoom.com/vandep/boatphotos.html
or go to the boat pictures directly:

When you click on a link at the top, the picture is loaded in to the
viewing area at the bottom. If this doesn't work for you, it is
probably because your browser is old. It works for me in both
Explorer version 5, and Netscape version 4.7.

I'll probably be fine-tuning the pages over the next week or so, so
let me know about any errors you find.

Enjoy,

Peter
