I accually found the boat in the West Systems project web page issue
22 and found it very interesting. I have been reading the pages of
the WB forum and it seems that a lot of builders there don't like
the strip built method very well but it has worked well for me with
smaller boats.

Hi Mike,

I guess you're referring to the design featured in Mr Bolger's
book "Boats with an Open Mind". As the offsets are reproduced there,
an experienced boatbuilder would just about have all the information
that's needed in the book. But, considering the total cost compared
with the cost of a full set of plans, plus the benefit of being able
to get advice from the designer, many would choose to buy the plans
from Mr Bolger, whose contact details are:

Mr. Philip C. Bolger, P.O. Box 1209, Gloucester, MA, 01930, United
States of America. Fax: (978) 282-1349

He doesn't use email, but you can fax him.

In his book Mr Bolger says he expects this design to do about 30 mph
with a 50 hp motor. Of course the speed would depend on how much
it's loaded up.

fishermen's launch 22'4" strip built. Does anyone know how I can get
plans, and if anyone has pictures of one that they have built. With
the recommended 50hp what is the expected top speed and handling?

Thank you
