Started the Brick
Hi All
Well I went an did it. After getting the plans in April of this year and
studying them to death, and reading both Bolger's Boats with an Open Mind,
and Paysons Build the New Instant Boats, plus joining this e-group, I have
started on a Bolger Brick (to be known as DAS BOX)(I know that is not proper
German ;) As a college professor I get a two week break (last week in June
and first week in July). Started on the brick after cleaning out the garage
on July 1 as of today have build front and rear transoms and one side hope
to finish the other today and put the boat together on Sunday July 9.

1) Good wood is the hardest thing to find
(using yellow pine BCX 11/32" plywood).
2) Be patient, these may be instant boat but are not instantaneous.
3) Get the book Build the New Instant Boats It is worth the cost
The information on rigging the Gypsy (which uses the same rig as
the Brick is invaluable)
4) Listen to your wife, it makes the project go smoother ;-)
Well just thought I would dash this off while waiting for the glue to dry.
I am taking pictures and hope to setup a web site showing how the Brick
comes togeather.
