Re: Sharpie, Munroe's Egret
Thank's Bruce.
Different leeboards to those in the 30ODD photo, and the hatch is down.
Didn't PCB write about the problems of that hatch style somewhere?
I think I'd like this boat more than a Black Skimmer for a vacation
cruiser. Less involved than a Black Gauntlet. I don't think PCB has
ever sold the plans...

Also, here is a scan of the MAIB photo. The text article mentions
that after a few years PCB cut down the mainmast and added a mizzen
making her a cat yawl.

no photos online that I know of. As you probably know, Pointer was
PCB's own boat during the late 50's and the 60's. The Gloucester Gull
was designed to be a towable rowing tender for Pointer.
Black Gauntlet is the follow up Bolger design which is most similar to
Pointer, I think, except BG is a cat yawl, and Pointer was a cat.

Pointer design. My guess, perhaps I read it, is that Pointer was
influenced by Commodore Ralph Munroe's legendary Egret. I think that
is easy to believe considering similarities in aspects of their hull
shapes. Here are some isometrics of the shape of Munroe's Egret
