Leander, for my polysail I used monofilament for the top thread and
polyester for the bobbin... ( I have it on hand for my carpet binding
machines) you should be able to find it at any decent sewing shop or
store....

UV tolereant polyester. You can get a big spool from Sailrite.

It will almost cut your fingers if you try to snap it by hand, good stuff.
