Gypsy bottom?
I'm nearing the final stages with my Gypsy (must finish by family
vacation to Cape Cod July 21!). It's a beautiful hull -- just
gorgeous, and looks like it'll shoot across the water.
But the bottom seems to have a lot of flex in it as I move the hull
around on the yard for sanding, etc. I have not yet fully glassed the
outside (beyond glassing the seams), and I'm wondering if that will
stiffen it enough. Otherwise, I'm considering adding a little 1X2
keelson from the centerboard case back to the transom, or to bulkhead
#12. Have any Gypsy builders encountered problems with oilcanning
while sailing?
Thanks for any advice.
All best,
Garth
