I have pictures of Grham Cheers boat with hi anchor rode storage
boxes, his final word on this is be sure to fit them with a latch ibn
the event you have a spill it keeps things aboard. He also keeps his
Port-a-Potti in the forward well between the two boxes and directly
in front of the mast didnt notice if the sears catralog was there

Mark,
Graham Cheers stores his sand anchor upside down in the bow well
leaning against the bow transom. The horizontal anchor bar sits
snuggly in a slotted piece of wood attached to each side of the bow
well. His chain/rope is contained in a purpose built compartment
just aft on the starboard side. This has a hinged lid. He also has
a stern anchor in another compartment built into the seats - this
stern anchor is very useful when launching - if theres a current you
can throw it out easily from the stern to prevent the boat drifting
sideways - holds it nice and steady while you get rid of the trailer
and get back into the boat.
If you'd like a picture of the anchor set-up, send me an e-mail
and I'll scan it and send it to you.
Regards,
Col Mooney

I will probably build some square buckets in the aft corners of the
bow well - drain holes on the sides, and a hole in the top into which
I can feed the rode and chain.
I may put in a stern anchor as well - in case I need to hit the
brakes...

Fellow Martha Jane Builders/Owners:
Where and how do you stow your bower? I'm trying to figure out the
best way to do it. I'd be interested in the most simple, of course,
but I want to consider all solutions. I'd like to avoid installing a
roller on the bow if possible, but I want to have something that
works well whatever it takes. Has anyone built chain lockers into the
bow? Does anyone just leave everything in a flaked heap in the bow
well?
Let the discussion begin!
