Re: Gypsy bottom and gentle reminders

I agree that dagger board case will probably add the needed stiffness. Also
external glassing will make a big difference (stiffness AND weight).
I used 5/16" u-lay instead if quarter inch, which increased stiffness as well.

Be careful with those deadline rushes. They somehow upset the gods of
leisure boat building and they retaliate with carpet bombing mistakes eg.
mis-measured mast partner, forgotten headblock cheeks, spiteful premature
epoxy hardening, etc. Someday soon I'll relate how I almost burned down my
workshop (with Gypsy in it), set fire to canoe (outside), and nearly started
a forest fire, all in one 30 second mistake while trying to make wingnuts
for Gypsy's rudder.

Speaking of deadlines. Last call for Tall Ships Halifax, July 19-24. Also a
friendly reminder that the Mahone Bay Wooden Boat Festival is Aug.2-6.

Attn. Phil Lea. So far there's at least two June Bugs, a Teal, and a Gypsy
(provided she survives my deadline rushing) planned to race at the festival.
Would love to see Shoe String in the line up. We'll be weaving our way
through the Wind Sprints and Light Schooners (at least in my imagination).
