RE: [bolger] Re: Tennessee Plans:
The trip included trailering to Chokoloskee for the put in and camping with friends who did not sleep on their boat but at the New Turkey Key designated campsite within the National Park. I anchored Esther Mae off shore of the lee side of the island and paddled back and forth in my canoe. The 4' tide range, stump strewn and rather steeply sloped shoreline made grounding out with low tide impractical. Zero to no bugs so evenings spent around the fire were extremely pleasant. I will try to write up something to post with a bit more detail and couple of photos. A good time was had by all. I highly recommend visiting the park via boat.

Hi Chester!
I've been wondering how your remake of Esther Mae was coming along, so please do post pics on your return (when you will read this, since you are gone by now). It's not clear, but was this a road trip or a boat trip to the Everglades?
I didn't make it down with my boat this year as I had a tenant leave in January. By the time I got things cleaned up and paint and rented out is was the end of February and I figured it was too late to go through the expense of hauling it down. Instead, I'm sitting in Merida, Mexico as I write this, getting out of the last of Northern Minnesota winter.
Bob
PS -Did you ever get Esther Mae up to the St. Johns?
