Re: Plywood Dovekie isometric

Please substitute Dovekie for Blueberry in the post above. Need a 3rd cup of coffee this morning. ;-D

Thanks again Bruce for making these available.

The thing that struck me about Blueberry is it's obvious impact on Michalak. He occasionally pays homage to Bolger in his writing. This boat could pass for a Michalak design.

IMO Michalak's designs usually reflect his Midwestern location, 200 miles or so from any of the Great Lakes, and 1,000 from an ocean, thus they are very light and minimalist, best for protected waters.
Thanks much, Bruce, for all the efforts on this and the whole series of paper models. I spend quite a bit of time on them and find them to be very interesting and educational. Good stuff! Bob
The chapter on Birdwatcher in BWAOM sure makes it sound like there never was a plywood Dovekie, at least not a completed plan. I wonder if PCB wasn't protecting Edey and Duff's business in the original by keeping a fleet of amateur build versions off the water. Now that the factory built Dovekie is long dead, there is no harm in publicizing the old plans.

The recent article in MAIB about Bolger's design 344 "Plywood Dovekie"
surprised me. I thought that I had heard of all the 'instant boats'
from the 1980's era, yet here was a new one.
