A double Brick Schooner! Cool.

Free advice is worth what you pay for it.

If it were me, I would be shopping the local Home Depot for some of
the "Simpson Strong-Tie" brand framing hardware to use for fixing up
the hardware. A bunch of the Simpson framing hardware comes in 10
guage and 12 guage.

I think that 16 gauge is kind of thin, and 18 gauge even thinner.
Also, it is true that dissimilar metals can start into corrosion.
This can be avoided by using galvanized fasteners with galvanized
parts, or by keeping things nice and dry when not in use.

It's probably stronger mechanically... but driving nails or screws
through it will disrupt the galvanization and make it high susceptible
to corrosion. I'd spring a few extra bucks for stainless and keep the
corrosion issue a bit more at bay.

Does anyone have any idea if 16 guage galvanized stell would be as strong as 18 guage stainless steel. I was thinking of cutting nail protection plates to make the connector tabs for double brick schooner.

Thanks Paul
