Roger Duncan's _Cruising Guide to the New England Coast_ has
long been considered The Book for these waters. His son Robert is
about to publish a new edition. I have an older edition of the book. It
is excellent and seems to cover everything, but may be too
far-ranging than you care to go (from New York Harbor and up the
Hudson all the way to Campobello Island). You can search Amazon
or Barnes and Noble for books with a more local focus, but buy from
a local bookstore if you can (just my opinion),
