By the way, the Manufacturer of British Seagull has a carburator
conversion kit for older motors that improves oil consumption and no
doubt improves environmental friendlieness. Here is an email sent to
my dad about his old engine.

I have just bought myself an ancient (but still going strong!!) Long shaft Sea
Gull for about US$100.. Bargain!! I look forward to keeping it in good nick over
the years of use by maintaining it myself... After building a boat surely a bit
of engine maintenance should be a doddle..
The engine was bought off of its second owner and copies of the original
purchase letter and a workshop manual came with it. It starts every time
although it is Seagull typical in being dirty and noisy, but hey the Micro is a
sailboat isn't it!!
