I used a case of beer and three large friends to help me turn over my
Oldshoe hull, which has only 200 lbs. of lead ballast. I believe
that this is the traditional and accepted way of turning a hull right
side up in the U.S. As the U.K. and the States share a maritime
heritage based in large part on beer and brute strength, I am sure
that this method will work for you. You may need to extrapolate
both the quantity of beer and number of friends to accomodate your
Micro hull. Also, I used a block and tackle hanging from my
(reinforced) garage rafters to assist with easing the keel down.
Finally, I found that the beer helped considerably with my post keel
anxiety disorder.

I spent a few hours on the weekend taping and filling/fairing the bottom of my
hull after finally fitting the lead plug (don't ask me about keel anxiety, I'm
still on medication!!) and I will be doing the polyurethane coating and painting
next weekend...
All of this is being done with my Micro on its side. I am now faced with the
problem of getting the boat right way up and onto the trailer... How did all of
you who have built one accomplish this? How many people did you need?
If anybody says they used a crane I will finish my boat sail over to the States
and.... Sorry, its all getting a bit much!!
