Outboards for Micro and Brick
Ok, I know you will think I am nuts, but I
have had excellent success with the old British Seagull. I had an antique
3.5 hp model with 5 blade prop that pushed my 17 ft Marsh Hen very well.
Right, It was hard to start (and stop actually), but it ran forever on
awful gas and used regular motor oil rather than the expensive 2-stroke
stuff. I now have a new (?) 2.5 hp model with recoil starter (rope).
It has less than 50 hrs on it and is not yet broken in. They are really
hard to kill, easy to work on and parts are available world-wide. AND THE
REDEFINE UGLY!
