Storm Petrel as drawn is a motor sailer. PCB did a larger rig for one builder though...

That Storm Petrel keel type could be fitted to any number of other boats with a highly rockered bottom, some better overall sailing shapes... perhaps a keeled Jinny with some side decks/bouyancy?

Nymph Cubed appears to have twin pivoting bilgeboards, not daggerboards. They would kick up if you hit something. Having said that, Nymph Cubed was not a finished design as I understand it, although I think there's enough for an experienced builder to work with.

Chair height seats with backs are more difficult to find in very shallow draft boats of the size range you're interested in. I would suggest looking at Oldshoe as one possibility. I'm with you on side decks, but Oldshoe has lots of freeboard and ballast.

I was looking at building a sailboat in the 15-17' range.

My concern with the dagger boards is the shallow waters in this area.

I am looking to build a boat that you sit in, not on and also that has seats to sit on, not the floor. I also want one with small side decks so when I bury the rail I don't go swimming. I am more interested in a sailing boat with a small motor than the other way around.

What is your concern about two dagger boards?

Perhaps you can give us some more information about how big a boat you want and how you want to use it. There are lots of boats that might be considered from powerboats with a tiny sail to sailboats with a tiny motor.
Could someone give me a comparison of these 2.

I am looking for a small boat to sail, and motor. I like the lines on the Nymph, but notice it has 2 dagger boards.

How does the Storm Petrel compare to the Stevensons Pocket Yachts?http://www.stevproj.com
