If you are considering a Brick, go to PDRacer.com and check out the modified brick specked out there. Over 300 have been built and registered. Can even get plans for an advanced one from Michael Storer at Duckworks for cheap. One thing they must have over a Brick is flotation to allow self rescue... And these boats have participated in some long endurance "races".
