Re: [bolger] What are "torts" ; Long Micro

I am guessing that 'torts' is a misspelling of 'bolts'. I looked
'torts' and 'tort' up, and also did a word usage search, in the Oxford
English Dictionary (searchable online from my local library). This
dictionary is massive. There was no nautical usage of 'tort' that I
could find, including obsolete usages. PCB was very aware of nautical
vocabulary, including the obscure, so I am guessing typo and that his
handwriting, (or his typing) switched a 'b' for a 't' and the 'l' for
a 'r'.

This is Pat I am building a Long Micro.

I have a question. In the building key #66 Phil stated that 1/4'' "torts" through tabernacle posts.

My question is what are "torts"? In #64 he states bolts through the bottom of the tabernacle posts so I guess he is not talking about bolts.

I am imagining bolts through the back of the breast hook through the tabernacle posts and counter sunk into the front of the tabernacle posts. That's approx a 15'' bolt not an easy hole to drill straight. Do you have any ideas. Am I on the right track?
