I agree with Gregg that we gain little from these discussions about the
rights and wrongs of copyright infringement. I'm happy to say no more on
the topic PROVIDED there are no more public (ie on-list) requests for copies
of copyright material.
Perhaps Gregg will consider the possibility of some rule to that effect?
Re: Chuck Merrell shooting from the hip - I personally treasure his
curmudgeonly rants, whether I agree with them or not. If I was a publisher,
I'd retain Chuck to do a regular column to stir things up a bit. I remember
when the formidable Denny Desoutter was editor of Practical Boat Owner, his
monthly column attacking one thing or another (usually 'ad hominem' in
nature) invariably raised my blood pressure. It was the first page I turned
to in every issue!
