Re: [bolger] finishing up my EP
I built 1 small boat using just good quality enamel... 3 pirogues using fiberglass tape on the outside chines.... they all got rough treatment with kids and lasted about the same 3 years. None were ever left in the water. doc --- OnTue, 12/22/09, tlakin2002<tlakin2002@...>wrote:

i'm getting close to the point on my Elegant Punt where i'll be applying paint. i'm hoping to have nearly all of the boat finished up to that point tomorrow evening. i've gone completely with the glue and screw method thus far and have avoided epoxy altogether. but i'm wondering, do i need to put some sort of varnish or coating on the hull before i start painting on the primer coats or do i just paint away and not bother? any opinions on what would be a good way of sealing things a bit without epoxy use?
