Maybe it would be a good choice for this group?

In the early 90s I used to hang out on a group called alt.hackers (not about breaking computer systems, but about creative solutions to problems). One of the rules in that group was that every post must have something hack-related in it, somewhere. It was called the "Obligatory Hack", usually written "ObHack". All,
I only lurk here too, hoping to one day build on of PB's designs.
Can I throw in a quotation:
"Discussing and building Philip C. Bolger's (1927-2009) boat designs and similar.
This is a spam-free, on topic group - pretty much anything boating, design, or boat-building related is fair game. Please don't repost Spam. Spammers and flamers will be bounced off."
Recognise it?
It's the description of this group.
Why it was started.
I think it leaves it pretty open as to the range of topics that can be discussed here.
Phil, his plans, and Susanne, are something a lot of people here care about. I never knew Phil, and have never spoken to Susanne, but I have dealt with other grieving people and it matters to them that other care about the one they have lost.
I believe Susanne does look at this group, and I'm am sure she can draw some small comfort knowing that other people cared about Phil and his work too. If we can do that, and it helps her through a bad time, shouldn't we?
There are people here who did know, or had met, Phil and they would be feeling a personal loss too. It helps to talk about it, it is a part of the grieving process.
The term "Stay on Subject" really refers to each thread, not the entire group, that way those who are here looking specific help or information can find it easily, and those just wanting to talk can.
cheer
Dr. Phil.
(only kidding, it's Simon)

Guys,
I only lurk here and have only built one Bolger designed boat. But how about those who want to discuss issues about plans availability, grief, and freedom of expression exercising some restraint or taking it off line. I think the group is here to discuss Bolger boats…not other more personal stuff.
My Bolger boat was named “Green Streak” for the lousy paint job I did on her. She was the substitute canoe design and got a lot of use on the Main and Lahn rivers in Germany. The kids had more fun with her as a play thing on land then we did in the water.
