I have been handing flyers to friends and just did a mailing.
Those who will be helping Jerry, Jim and I to build the Priogue we
will
meet at the Donald cafe for breakfast on the morning of the 5th. let
me
know if you will be there.

You are invited to a Barry's Third Annual
Picnic and Messabout at a Park
Where: Champoeg State Heritage Area - Boat dock
When: August 5, 2000 from 10:00 to 4:00 PM
What: Bring your boat and/or picnic
A group area by the boat dock has been reserved for showing off boats,
picnicking and whatever. There are picnic tables.
Jerry Estes, and friends will assemble a pirogue in one day, to be
given
to the park.
Come help, watch, visit, and have fun.
To find Champoeg State Heritage Area, take I-5 to Donald Aurora exit
(exit 278) then follow state park signs (about 5 miles west).
To find the boat dock follow signs inside park.
There are stairs and a wheel chair ramp to the dock to hand carry
small
boats and canoes. Ramp launching is available at Newberg, about 5
miles
upstream. Arrange a tow if needed.
There is a $3.00 per vehicle state park day use fee if you do not
have a
annual pass. Day use passes may be purchased at the Visitor's
Center
or
at several ticket machines in the park.
If you have not been to the Park Visitor's Center, it is worth a
stop.
Turn right when entering.
