Re: [bolger] Re: CHEBACCO

I put a Free!ship version 2.6 model of the Chebacco Lapstrake 20 footer here:

http://hallman.org/fbm/ChebaccoLapstrake20.fbm

You need Free!ship version 2.6 to view it, in 3D.

available opensource in a lot of places
Cool!!
I've never seen one of those, even in photos.
Keep everybody posted--
Dave

I will re-assess my commitment to the project once I have the building frame built and all the forms in place. (I am under no illusion that this is a small or easy project - so my plans may change when I see how much I am biting off!)

David,

Like you, I want to build a lapstrake next, and the Chebacco 25 seems to be a perfect challenge that will result in the perfect boat for my needs. I wrote to Susanne but haven't received a reply yet - so, unperturbed (and understanding), I have started anyway with the plans in BWAOM.

Those three, half page plans contain a huge amount of information about how it is meant to go together.

So far I have 90% cleared out a 30'x14' space in a shed, I have marked out about half the forms on scrap 1/2" ply and I have laminated up the stem. I will re-assess my commitment to the project once I have the building frame built and all the forms in place. (I am under no illusion that this is a small or easy project - so my plans may change when I see how much I am biting off!)

Go directly to Suzanne at the PB&F address. I think she is the only source.

Your biggest problem in building may be that your shop is full of visitors anxious to see how it turns out, at least if my level of curiosity is any guide.

Good Morning All:

I am looking for plans for the 25’ Chebacco.  I have built the 19’ version in sheet ply and would like to build in lapstrake.

Thanks
