Re:Bolger Micro storage

Rod,

Sorry, no pictures. I worked out a combination of cooler, storage, and porta potti that nests tightly side to side and these are all tied or bungied to the bulkhead that divides the main cabin from the under deck area. For the hatch cover I have a line that goes from the center of the hatch to an eye bolt directly below and then to a cleat in the cabin. I put locks on the main hatch. You can’t release the deck hatch without access to the cabin. Flotation is sheets of 2 inch foam cut to allow an inch or so above and below. I have tied on some loose 1x1 to space the foam away from all walls.

I am looking at putting some styrofoam floatation in under the decks on my osprey, and was planning to cover them in painted cloth - stitch up square bags essentially, whip-stitch them shut and then paint them. Figure it shouldn't take too long and doesn't need to be neat. The insulation I bought is really light, but crumbly, stuff and I know that if I put them in uncovered under the decks that also serve as storage places it is just going to get chewed up and get all over the place and block up the limber holes and generally make a mess.

Cheers, Brian
