Re: [bolger] Re: Large, big, long Diablo
stretch of a Diablo hull. No cabin, tiny cuddy, 20hp, I will whip
out an isometric tomorrow.

Some photos of FMS "ADA" part way down this page. Including one of enlarged cabin.

There are more online pics of that boat which could be found by searching the builder's name given in the chapter. He added substantially to the cabin. This design should be available from PB&F, though I don't know if it would include expansions of the plywood panels as in the instant boat designs.

I would take that to mean Volume 11, Number 1. I have a vague memory of the article, but not of the boat.
The lines plan of the Sea King reminds me somewhat of the PCB's steel Curragh (sp?). I suppose it's a fairly generic shallow V-bottom. I don't mean to be disloyal, but there are lot's of plans of that type at bateau.com.

I have seen a lot of commentary on this one over the last few days. No one has mentioned the discussions of "Yamato Boats" that were bouncing around over the last couple of years. If you search the archives on "yamato" there is some interesting reading. One thing I found was this link:Selway-Fisher

> I am looking for the closest Bolger design to the "panga" or "yamaha"I think it would help if you could point to a website, or at least a picture, of the kind of panga you have in mind. The ordinary sort of Google search is complicated by the use of the word as a brand name. I think there was a discussion once-upon-a-time in Woodenboat, but I could be confused.
> working fishing boats.
From what I did see on the web, I guess you are talking about a small, flat-bottom outboard fishing boat suitable for use off a beach. PCB designed a host of outboard fishing boats including Diablo, the Fisherman's skiff and the two Work Skiffs that you can see athttp://www.instantboats.com/boats.html.
Some more, plus some round-bottom boats are shown in his books.
If you are planning to row it, I wouldn't go much larger than the Fisherman's skiff.
I remember seeing a large kind of Diablo with a small cabin, but I don t

I ran into total frustration looking for info on the yamaha panga. The FAO designs were the basis for the platform and modified for more power. Yamaha drew up plans and produced molds. I never found plans and or anyone with any knowlege of them. I joined the panga group for help and they just replied copy a hull. Panga is a generic word for boat but the version yamaha designed is popular and copied and produced in fiberglass and can be bought from Mexico. It seems the delta pad varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Good luck finding info or plans. IMO, Shivaree meets the criteria, a few versions are in plans.

I already ordered using Lulu yesterday. So far no red flags, and lately if there is anything unusual on the credit card they shut it off ASAP and worry about the owner inconvenience second.
