Just got back from sailing my 1st home built boat-
Uncle John's Pirouge - (1st time sailing anything on
my own as well). It was great, I managed not to
capsize, and only took water over the side twice! The
boat worked great (luan, latex exterior paint,
polyester resin, blue tarp sail (CHEAP!) My sailing
skills (or lack there of) was actually the main
challenge. It did have a wicked weather helm however,
I moved the leeboard back 3 times, and then said the
heck with and just used it that way - I was steering
with a paddle, so i could get pretty good leverage.
I'm sure with additional experimentation I should be
able figure out where the leeboard should go. Anyway,
I am very excited and am ordering Rueben's Nymph plans
on Monday. The addiction has officially begun! Can
anyone comment on how stable the Nymph is? As soon as
I learn to sail a little (read: a lot) better, I'd
like to take my wife out with me. Thanks.

Thanks.
