RE: [bolger] Re: Lady Slipper FS in Massachusetts

I vaguely recall that there was a small roller at the point of the keel-might work on concrete, but too small to wheel the boat to the water on any rougher/softer ramp.

Collector's item, yes, about what I thought. You really need a "deep water" dock - the one thing I lack. And additions to the yard fleet will not be welcomed by She Who Gardens.

That said, if anybody really wants it, I could toss it in the back of the pickup, and find a place to hide it til you can pick it up!

This design was written up in an early Small Boat Journal. Apparently PCB drew this up as a sailing dinghy for men to give their wives and Edey and Duff built a couple. PCB says it sailed well and there was a picture of one being sailed by a very relaxed looking young matron. Apparently it came out at about the time the feminist revolution was in full swing and many potential customers felt that it would be a condescending gift. It was not a commercial success and this is the only one I’ve ever heard about. It could be a collector’s item!

I saw this on Craigslist - I haven't had a chance to get by and see it - I don't really need a full-keel 8 footer, but it would be a neat lawn ornament - looks like a shark fin!
