Good morning.
It's design # 621 REIVER II, a 50' x
13' x 2.5' x 900ft dipping lugger, built at Story in Essex
2003-2004. Then she was much modified with a different stern and the
ketch rig mentioned. No known lateral plane area beyond the shallow and
wide box-keel, initially intended to allow just gentle afternoon reaching
and running should weather and mood strike. Twin 72hp with max-props
plus bow-thruster usually were supposed to do the work. Last seen and
photographed at WOODENBOAT Boatshow in Newport, RI, say 6-8 years ago (no time
to check now!) as "ONE MORE HUG" in same color-scheme. Her genesis and
morphings are one story of what can happen to a design...
One hopes that the new owners will enjoy her.
She was written up in BDQ and MAIB, again no time to look up which issue.
We are in the final stage of assembly of the Gloucester project #681 38'10"x7'6""x1'x200HP. Gratifying, instructive, strenuous...
