Re: thermal tolerance of epoxy
Richard,
Be careful about painting the inside of an open boat white. I
painted my first sailboat (a Teal) white in and out with red trim.
Looked smart, but I lived in Phoenix and on my first sail I was
almost blinded by the reflection. Now I stick to tans and light
blues...
In Arizona the darker hull paints would blister off due to the
heat. I was using Poly resin and the sun never bothered it.
Bink.

I'm getting ready to build Michalak's Larsboat, a
taped seam canoe.
I'd like to paint the inside white and the outside
black, but I've read that you should paint your epoxy/glass/wood boat a light
color to keep it kool.
This boat will be stored upside down outside
in the sun, so it may get quite hot...
Anybody have any experiance with black EGW boats
stored outside?
