Re: Help Micro bulders - Micro bulkhead C

Hi Francisco - well, what about bulkhead A with all the water in the
anchor well? And all the holes in the keel sheating and in the hull
bottom in the aft and forward well? I'm pretty sure that this was
definitely not a consideration in PCB's mind when he drew the boat...
Anyway - in two days I've completed two bulkheads (C and D) and
started the transom... I will complete the transom tomorrow and, if
my wife will agree to extend my sabbatical leave one or two more
days, I could butt join the hull sides and be ready to go 3-D! We'll
see...

Well... the Micro bulkhead "C" is the lower one, the first one that is going
to be "attacked" if you get some rain water inside... but with epoxy
saturation that's probably no problem.

Just my 2 pesetas.

Bill - if this was the reason, then he would have designed all frames
like that, which is not the case... Anyway, my bulkhead C is done now!

This sounds like a pretty sound reason to me! Even with epoxy saturation (and
bilges so dry they can be vacuum-cleaned, I'm sure), who wants to put plywood
end-grain where it might have an opportunity to suck up water! Perhaps PCB
was killing two birds with one stone.

Hi, Pippo,

I'm happy to here that you are building again. I know you can make a lot of
progress in... one week?

About bulkhead "C": (I have "C", "D", and "S.T." frames ready, with no
plywood... the suplyer finished it!). In my plans I can see about 2cm
separation between the gussets and the bottom. My first thought was rot
preventing... but this is may be the second reason. The first one (as Rick
have pointed) is probably material economy, not a problem for you that are
using different plywood sizes.

Good luck.
