[bolger] Re: mj mast step collar
I built a Martha Jane and raised the mizzen step 1 1\2 inches above the
cockpit seat on four little blocks which were 1 1\2 inch cubes-I don't
remember whether the cubes were fir or plywood, but it worked very well.

That is unfortunate wording and I can see how you would be confused. I
believe what is meant is that the feet of the mizzen stem are made of 1
1/2 x 1 1/2 (square) pieces. Bolger usually specifies that there be
spaces in the corners for drainage. Hope that helps.
