Re: [bolger] Re: Bolger Egret Style Sharpie.... the reference date and MAIB BOD Index

I had that one (which I had had previously wrong in my listing).
Fixed it now and added a thumnail, and I have the intention of making
an isometric rendering in due time. That boat is more or less a cat
ketch big sister of the Teal class of instantboats.
V12N11 is likely the October 15, 1994 issue.
Very true that the entire opus of Bolger boats is so huge that getting
a handle on it is a monumental task. I have been gradually proof
reading and updating my listing, trying to get it more complete and
correct.

Bob,
that reference for the double ender Sydney sharpie I gave is slightly out.
The reference should be MAIB V12 N11, page 23.
As for date, the best I can do is to narrow the range for you. The V12 N11 publication date lies between V12 N1 5/15/1994, and V13 N1 5/15/1995 - so around about September/October 1994.
There's a handy html item for Bolgeristas placed long ago in the bolger2 Files that you may download: a MAIB Bolger On Design Articles Index, sorting them up to 10/23/2001.

What Month and Year was MAIB V12 N12?
I remember reading that article in MAIB about that Egret Inspired
Bolger Sharpie, and even commented on it in a thread about Egret type
sharpies in the WoodenBoat Forum, but couldn't find it in my MAIBs when
I went to look for it. I was sure that I had seen it, but since I
couldn't find it, and no one else could recall seeing it, I started to
think I must have imagined reading about it. That scheme of tilting
the motor up is exactly as I remember, and now maybe I can believe that
I was not having boat hallucinations.
As I recall, the model was of pretty typical Egret type proportions
(the owners desire, not PCBs preference), but with Bolger's thoughtful
and functional detailing of every feature.
Now I'll have to go back through my MAIBs and try to locate that issue.
Thanks for posting that Cruzer,
Bob
