Re: Fw: Martha Jane Full Size Paper Plans

Actually, NASA has designs for a 3D printer to print moon or mars bases. Uses local soil, provided by something like a robotic front loader, and heat for materials.

I remember that. He had a map of the US in 1 to 1 scale, i.e. actual size. In the same monologue he said he had a box of powdered water, but didn't know what to add. :)

With your due caution about taking things outside, one can sense that you’ve ‘been there’ before...
Sure would not want to have the darn boat come to fill the house with no way to get it out !!

This is developing into a really useful thread.  Yes Newbies – behold Old Hands at work !!
Read tight !
Take notes !
And don’t get stuck !
There will be a pop-quiz...

Well, there is always'thesource', i.e. PhilBolger& Friends.
Plans with respective corrections and upgrades were listed by Phil over 10
years ago at US $250.- to build one boat, sent rolled in a tube.
However these would not be 'full-size' plans...
Typically, an international money order or a bank-draft made out to'Phil
Bolger&Friends'will work from Oz.
Thank you for your interest.

I thought I saw a twinkle in your eye, all the way to Virginia.

But with email, one can never be too sure.

Thanks for the clarification.

may I guess -- that "full-size plans" are drawn to actual finished size of the boat -- for some boats with complex shapes, such could be used as patterns for sawing frames, etc... without going thru the steps of "lofting".  Certainly not a requirement for a "box-boat"...

Wayne Gilham - previous owner of a Black Skimmer (built by others)

On the other hand, in this board's recent discussions, it is worth noting that the rolled plans from Suzanne are usually the "full-size" of the original drawings = size of the pretty big drawing board used by herself or Phil -- blueprint-size... as opposed to the shrunk 8.5" x 11" or smaller reproductions in their published books or MAIB articles, from which SOME builders have been willing to use their magnifying glasses to build....
