Introductions and a new Surf

Hey, all.  Been a member of the group quite a while but haven't posted.  My first boat was a Bolger Bobcat (Tiny Cat) which I've since sold to Howard Rice and it's now called "Spark".  It's a unique build with a complete cabin, 12V system, 6' bunk, anchor locker, 2 HP outboard, hollow spars, and beautiful cruising sail with two large reefs.  I believe Howard has now fitted a centerboard gasket and other modifications to improve it.  I think the rudder plate helps prevent ventilating the rudder when you get (the classic catboat) weather helm.  Howard also owns Blueberry and is probably familiar to a lot of you.

I've been working rebuilding a unique catboat over the past 18 months and should have it in the water soon.  It's a home build based on the Herreshoff America 18 and I've retrofitted a large cabin and a fully custom interior with a large V-berth, wood stove, head, tankage, and 12V system.  The 18 feet LOA and 9 foot beam should accommodate the first mate a little better.

Having loved my adventures on my Bobcat I couldn't help but snatch up a Bolger Surf when it popped up on Craigslist this Sunday.  It's happily parked at home and I'll be getting some photos tomorrow morning.  It'll be seeing a lot of time cruising Puget Sound (I live in West Seattle) and I'm looking forward to meeting you out there.

Cheers and happy holidays!
